Protection as a discipline,
not a product

At Houseraydas, protection training is approached as a discipline — not a product. Our foundation is rooted in structured sport frameworks such as IGP and Körung, where protection is developed through precision, nerve strength, and absolute control.

From that foundation, we offer both sport protection development and carefully structured home/personal protection pathways for suitable dogs and committed handlers.

Protection is never built on fear, chaos, or uncontrolled aggression. It is built on clarity, obedience, and temperament.

Protection training philosophy at Houseraydas

Controlled power under structure

Protection training — when done correctly — is the development of:

  • Stable nerves under pressure
  • Clear thinking in high arousal
  • Strong, calm grips without conflict
  • Immediate obedience before, during, and after engagement
  • Environmental neutrality outside of work

A correctly trained protection dog is stable, safe, and controllable in everyday life. Protection work is not about creating aggression. It is about developing controlled power under structure.

What protection training really develops

Sport & personal protection

Pathway 1

Sport Protection (IGP & Körung)

Our sport program follows established international methodologies used in IGP trials and breed suitability evaluations. We develop:

  • Balanced drive expression
  • Calm, full grips
  • Clean outs and obedience under pressure
  • Progressive pressure appropriate to maturity
  • Trial-ready performance standards

This pathway is suitable for competitors, working-line dogs, and suitable show-line dogs under assessment.

Pathway 2

Structured Home / Personal Protection

In select cases, we also train dogs for home and personal protection. This is never offered casually. Before any protection-specific work begins, the dog must:

  • Be evaluated for temperament and nerve strength
  • Demonstrate environmental stability
  • Have a solid obedience foundation
  • Be trained directly under our system
  • Have a committed, responsible handler

Personal protection training is built on the same principles as sport — control, clarity, and accountability — with real-world applications layered responsibly.

Protection only when standards are met

Protection training is only offered when these standards are in place. These requirements protect the dog, the handler, and the public.

Obedience Foundations are firmly established before any protection work begins
Assessment The dog has been formally evaluated in person
Handler Demonstrates control, intent, and long-term commitment
Temperament The dog’s temperament supports the work ethically

Protection without obedience is irresponsible. Protection without evaluation is negligent.
